This movie could have been so good. Great SFX but was way too long and had a horrible love triangle. Talk about cashing in on Titanic. Are there any actual fans of this?

It's ok not great. The love triangle definitely takes away from the rest of the movie

The war parts were good. The rest was okay... The only reason I say okay is because I'm a sucker for WW2 stuff.

Also, true story, I saw this in theaters when I was 14. When we walked out of the theater, there were these college aged dudes discussing it, and one goes "I didn't know we dropped the atomic bombs just a few months after they bombed Pearl Harbor." . I don't know why this is such a vivid memory for me, but it was really odd. I guess it's because it was the first time I appreciated watching a lot of war movies with my dad and grandpa.

Cuba should've had a bigger part.

While Ben is a great director, his acting (especially when cast as a pretty boy)leaves much to be desired.

I guess they stuck to historical context.

I wish the movie would have been centered around the attack and the US response. A nurse getting passed from pilot to pilot was uninteresting.

For all the hate Bay gets, I still think it was a well-directed movie. It just had a terrible terrible script that no director could have saved.

yeah it could have been really good if they would have just focused on the war. the love triangle was completely unnecessary

Dorie Miller was the first black to be awarded the Navy Cross. He was later killed during the invasion of Tarawa.

The movie Pearl Harbor had some great action scenes, but P-40 pilots becoming B-25 pilots in four months was a little beyond belief.

what ever happened to Josh Hartnett by the way? he wasn't a bad actor, but seems to have fallen off the face of the earth.

I use PH BluRay as my go to surround sound demo movie. When the jap planes start attacking, the 7.1 is awesome.

One of the worst films, dialogue-wise I have ever seen. If you hadn't known better you would have thought a high schooler wrote the script. The dialogue was cheesy, the romance was adolescent, and the acting wasn't too good either. Apart from awesome SFX this film was none too pretty to look at.
