I've seen this both in Texas and Louisiana.

For example, the Tatum Eagles, a 2A perennial football powerhouse in northeast Texas, use this logo:

I mean, that's the exact logo of the Philadelphia Eagles. Aren't those NFL logos copyrighted?

I would think as revenue and brand conscious as Goodell and the NFL suits are, that they'd be concerned about this and taking legal action.

Just something to muse about on a Sunday afternoon.

I believe the NFL allows use of its logos at the HS ranks for free. That's why it's so common for high schools to use NFL logos. There have been many discussion s about this on UniWatch over the years.

Happens all over the country. Sometimes with permission and sometimes without. A couple teams in the BR area got cease and desist letters from some college teams (St Amant and Florida)

A coach told me once the school didnt care but they just had to pay like a dollar a year so that the school could keep the copyright. Dont know how true it was but thats what i heard

Teams probably pay for the right to use the logo.

Plenty of teams also use the Packers "G"

My high school baseball team has been using the Detroit Tigers logo for as long as I can remember. The basketball team uses Auburn's eyes logo as well.
I don't think they're big enough for them to really care though

Florida And FSU have made a few schools stop using it. They usually give them a few years to make it happen.

I think schools are just lazy...you can pay someone to come up with an original logo.
