They're just trying to live by their Book, while we only give lip service to living by our Book. They see us as complete heathen/heretic hypcrits, devoid of morals. They have a point.

No, it really is just the religious nutcases who happen to be running things. The average Iranian tends to be fairly Western in outlook. I happen to know someone who used to go there regularly (for one of the NGO's) and confirms this.
