I can pass it up on the tv.

I can't pass up Jaws or the original Star Wars trilogy.

Sounds like Community fans.

Some of the best threads on here are when a group of community fans lament the fact the show is cancelled, and someone enters to point out that Big Bang Theory is still going strong.

They be so mad!

Fanatical? I would say that people who know movies pretty well appreciate how well done this movie was. It's not my favorite anything, but you have to have a very good reason to not like if for me to not assume you're just trolling.

If you're saying there isn't a fanboy cult for the film (I don't claim everyone who likes the film is in it), then you're the one trolling.

Superhero and scifi movies I expect cults. But for what is basically a prison male-bonding soap, it's a bit surprising. That's why it interests me.

I guess I just don't personally know anyone who is fanatical about the movie. But it is interesting if these fanboys do exist.

I think you're being deliberately obtuse.

That's because Community is a smartly written show about people at a community college, while BBT is a mildly retarded show about people with advanced degrees.

I saw it for the first time about 2 yrs ago and don't see how anyone can dislike it.

I stayed away because I'm not a fan of "Older" type movies, but it was really a great story and done very well.

How about, why in the hell would Andy go to the warden with Tommy's story about Blatch? He knows the warden is corrupt and that they have killed people. The guards beat Boggs to a pulp because of Andy. What did he think the warden was going to say? "Gee Andy, that's great, I'll call the governor and see if we can get you a new trial?"

The ACLU existed during the time frame of this movie. He had a defense lawyer at some point. Tell them. Even if the warden is spying and overheard, some one on the outside would know.

Its a good movie and I like it, but its not an all time great, it doesn't crank my 90's top 20.

I agree with this. For Andy to be so smart, he played this like a dumbass. He told the Warden that he wouldn't say anything about the fraudulent accounting knowing good and well that the Warden would never leave alive. It was definitely weak part of the plot but then again maybe hope got the best of Andy distorting his sense of reality. Saying that the Warden was being obtuse was definitely not one of his smarter moves.
