Mangini seems pretty dumb when he's on ESPN. In SP/Loomis we trust, tho

I don't think schefter is pulling this out his arse. He cited league sources. Questioning the sources is fair game tho.

Pat Kirwan is speculating that it is going to be Ed Donatell. Thinks that if we wanted Mangini or Crennell, Payton wouldn't be "taking his time".

+1

If 'that guy' was out there CSP would have pounced. Why wait if he's your guy? To lose him to some other team?

Like many have said here it seems likely to be a coach on super bowl teams.

Of course a coach could have been offered and must discuss with wife

Source confirms @AdamSchefter report of Saints interest in Romeo Crennel; source says there's more interest in Crennel than Eric Mangini.

I've thought that too. Usually teams make a lot of moves when they are putting together staffs while they are at the Senior Bowl. But CSP wasn't able to make it here until Wednesday. Most of the coaches and scouts leave town Friday anyway. The game itself just isn't that big of a deal.

I'm starting to think Jim Tomsula would be the guy I'd want to see them hire.

Mangini in to coach the DB's
Romeo to run the D and coach the D-line

We will be Patriots dynasty in a year or two

So youre going to replace one DC who sold out his team for something he was apart of for another guy that sold out his former team for something he was a part of?

I don't like Mangini either.

I guess Crennel is okay.. but what is with the NFL just recycling coaches.

Good defenses follow Romeo Crennel everywhere he goes, much like Wade Phillips.

He's just not cut out to be a head coach.

Nice. They gotta keep up the charade that they are important and reporting real news...

I think if they are waiting for after the Superbowl they may go for Tomsula, which I like. Otherwise, Crennel would be a good hire imo.

Schefty said it??? Must be true!

FYI everyone in the "Spags was Fired" thread last night said the Saints should consider Romeo, Mangini, Singletary, Rob Ryan(briefly) and everyone else with 3-4 experience. It's common sense, not ground breaking sports reporting. All it proves is Schefty reads TD for up to date saints wish lists.

You can bet your arse Payton and Loomis have not told a single soul about who they're considering for the job.

I'm so over getting worked up over the fricking media nonsense. Finding a new DC should be fun so I will choose to ignore all outlets.

Romeo Crennel and a bad arse first round DE is just what this team needs.
