i used to sell coon hides at yarbroughs and the meat to a little old black lady that ran the little country stow in clayton. seems like i was getting about $18 a hide for a pretty good one and $2 for the meat, so it averaged about $20 a coon. This was in the early to mid 1970's.
eta: and shootin' em with the same 10-22 that i shoot squirrels with today..

You can go in the not so good areas of town, especially with the Super Bowl soon, and sell the coons for $15. Skin em, wrap in tin ferl, and keep a foot on.
