Do You Prefer A High Scoring Shootout or a Low Scoring Defensive Battle?

I could see how both are appealing but I much prefer the low scoring games in soccer where one goal means so much more.

The high scoring shootouts are exciting as well but I feel like I'm watching bad soccer if it gets too out of hand.

High scoring when it's your team or when there is a quick sequence of back-and-forth goals in a match.

Other than that, 2-1 matches are fine by me.

As a United fan, I have to say shootout by law.

At the highest level, I don't really have a preference

Otherwise, I want to see goals: LINK

I like low scoring games when barcelona passes the ball 1 thousand times, then attempting at goal if at all possible with chelsea playing stoke style in the box. Chelsea, 1 shot, 1 goal. Valdes sucks. Drogbaaaaaaa!!!!!

Low scoring. The goals are more exciting that way.

A cold, wet day at Stoke sounds like a miserable experience. I prefer for the goals to be flowing.

Agree. During Euro/World Cup there's always some random poster that shows up with a plan to make increase scoring and that plan usually begins with an unquestioned premise that everyone really wants to see tons of goals regardless of how it affects the dynamics of the game.

I'd guess that most longtime fans of the game prefer to see a 0-0 match filled with slick passing link ups, desperate last ditch tackles, goal line saves, players smoothly taking down 50 yard passes in stride etc as they would a bunch of sloppy goals.

I prefer that both sides try to attack and if that results in a 4-3 shootout all the better. However, if good defense means a 0-0 result, that's a whole hell of a lot better than sloppy, mediocre teams playing a 5-4 match mainly because they have horrid defenses.

That's exactly what Bho would say when asked about his alter.

Baseball is the only sport where I prefer a low scoring game.
