While we have a few players that are better suited to a 3-4, those guys will likely start. We have 2-3 spots to fill in the staring lineup (NT or DE, OLB, S).

The rest is depth. We need a lot more guys suited for the system, and a lot of the backups just aren't suited for it and will likely be let go or moved. We've got to keep all of our picks in order to build depth, and I think we will spend a lot of time in FA on 3rd and 4th tier 3-4 guys in order to build it.

To me, that's going to be one of the biggest tasks in changing the defensive philosophy: depth and competent backups the suit the system.

I know I'm the minority, but I see NT as taken care of. I don't see why Bunkley an Hicks couldn't be your two deep there.

Rush OLB is top priority IMO.

I agree with DE Bc Jordan is your best fit...don't really know well Smith will do there. We still have McBride but that's also an unknown.

S is def last on the list. Would be nice to upgrade there but with this new switch, I will be very highly disappointed if we use even our 3rd rounder but only 2nd pick on a S

We're definitely gonna have to get creative. I'd imagine we'll be super active (as usual) in udfa.

we have some players that will fit in better to a 3-4. Smith is great a holding his ground. He just doesn't get much pressure on a qb, that is what the d-ends in a 34 are asked to do. Yes it's nice to have a NT like nagata are wilfolk but they don't fallout of trees. We have guys like hicks and bunkley that can be like ratliff in dallas hell they are bigger than ratliff. We just need to bring in a stud olb/de to bring that pass rush.

On the current roster, in my humble opinion, and I've said this for two years, the most athletic defensive player is Martez Wilson. He needs to be on the field, in some capacity. Period.
