At the same time obviously

Top tier:
Chris Paul
Westbrook
Kyrie Irving
Rondo
Tony Parker
Deron Williams
Edit: WHOA, forgot Derrick Rose
Edit#2: John Wall?

Next up:
Stephen Curry
Monta Ellis (whichever is the PG)
Brandon Jennings
Jrue Holliday
Kemba Walker
Greivis Vasquez

And a number of other that are very respectable. The order is not a ranking just two groupings.

Any others that deserve to be in this two tiers? How terribly off am I?

What say you?

And yet still and forever has been the least important position in the NBA.

Too many people can play it adequately enough to win. Jeff Teague didn't make this list but he is still good enough

I like the guy, but Vasquez does not belong next to those players. Holiday just made the all star team and Curry was a snub. Vasquez is nowhere close to being an all star

No obv Vasquez is better than lillard, Lowry, Conley, etc. These are the same fans who said Collison was tier 2 a couple years ago when he was putting up similar numbers for the bees.

1. Not all teams work the same way.

2. Not all point guards need to score a lot to be effective.

Completely agree.

Jamaal Crawford, WAAAAY more important that Paul.
Vasquez. Pfffttff. Give me Austin Rivers.
Kevin Martin, you're up, Westbrook, you're getting traded.

I don't think that can beat some years in the 90s.

1995:
John Stockton, Gary Payton, Jason Kidd, Mark Price, Kevin Johnson, Kenny Anderson, Tim Hardaway, Penny Hardaway, Mark Jackson, Sam Cassell, Avery Johnson, etc

Solid year. I don't think Penny could count under PG though.

Duncan and Garnett were the best players on those teams. Rondo was nothing more than a role player and 4th best player on that team.

prime Ginobili > Parker too.

Again, Ben Wallace was the best player on that team. also that was a once in a generation defense.

PGs do not matter in the NBA, it's a fill in position.

It's going to be hard for a CP3 led team to ever win a championship. Bigs and wings reign supreme

Tell me who the great players on those Allen Iverson teams that went to the Finals were?

Look at Chris Paul consistently getting the Hornets into the playoffs without much talent around him.

A great PG is the absolute best asset a team can have. Even if the rest of your team sucks, you can beat anybody with a great PG.
