We suspected Leach wasn't the sharpest knife in the kitchen but this may prove it.
For those not familiar, DeSoto produces quite a few D1 players (Von Miller is the most recognizable).

DeSoto (Tex.) High School defensive back Myron Turner has been a verbal commitment to the Cougars since October and, according to his coach, has steadfastly turned down scholarship overtures from other schools in keeping that non-binding commitment to Wazzu. Just last weekend, all seemed well as Turner made an official visit to Pullman.
Monday, however, Claude Mathis, the DeSoto coach, received a call from Leach informing him that the football program was going in another (bigger) direction at Turner’s safety position and pulled the scholarship offer. Suffice to say, with National Signing Day looming on the horizon, neither the coach nor the player was pleased with the abrupt and out-of-the-blue development.

At least he called the coach. Tuberville has been pulling offers at Cincinnati by ignoring kids who had verbaled.

This isn't really a unique situation, it it?

yeah, but he's been on the job for four weeks.... not 14 months like leach.
I'm no Tuberville apologist, like a lot of auburn fans, but it's pretty stupid to give him grief over guys committed to butch jones.

I dont think that's the point. No one would give him grief over that, people give him greif over the fact that he wont talk to the kids and tell them he doesnt want them.

Not at all, but given Leach's "history" I would think that he would tread more carefully wrt his relationships.

Exactly. There just might be future recruits in those high schools he wants to go after. A warm relationship with the football staff is a better recruiting atmosphere than a frosty one.

Myron should call Curtis Johnson.
