It can also be optimized a hell of a lot, and although we aren't getting mostly unnecessary high end graphics, we also aren't paying out the butt for it either. Consoles gamers get a hell of a lot more for there money.

I don't care about a controller. In fact, I want to keep my PS3 controller. I hope it's the same as the PS4 controller. I'm not the kind of guy that likes waving a glowstick dildo controller to play BF3.
Look, I am a console player. I like that I can only play 3 other players on a map the size of Jupiter. I just want a couple of things from the new inferior piece of shite console--better graphics, faster loads, more environmental interactivy and destruction, and higher framerates.
And possibly a hole for my dong.

you can easily build a $500 gaming machine that will run any of these games in 720p, which is what most of these consoles are all about.
plus its upgradable, and multi purpose
claiming consoles are more bang for your buck

Play what you want or what you can afford. It doesn't matter one bit to me. But the $1,100 I put in to my PC has never seemed to be a waste of money.

Could you build the PS4, assuming they are correct, based on the specs for the reported starting price of $350?

a) this is the 50th list of specs released, all different
b) that list is a dev kit, not a consumer kit
c) price has not been finalized
everyone has a computer. not everyone has to have a console.
add the price of your computer to your console - who wins? which one is upgradable?
