Doc,
It's rare that anyone writes something sincere on a message board, but in all seriousness, if you have that many similarities to Woodley, seek help.
My brother and son both have Aspergers and the world can be a very difficult and cruel place without medication. I know it's a personal decision, but I hope you can deal with social anxiety and stress better than Woodley.

Ehh, I'm already through all that for the most part.
I'm definitely on the mathy side of the autism spectrum, but I was never really that far over, and in any case, it just made me seem sort of weird when I was like 8 or 9, and I mostly just grew out of it. It's not like anybody would ever notice anything weird about me other than to say that I seemed really introspective, which of course was true.
Really, with my earlier comment, I was thinking about all the stuff about coming from an unusually poor and religious Catholic family, with lots of intelligence, some of the crazy drinking as an undergrad, and being the only sibling in a large family who was athletic.
There comes with all that a lot of frustration from constantly obsessing about perfectionism while coming face to face with the impossibility of ever reaching it. All the while sort of feeling nervous and outside the crowd wherever you go, which doesn't necessarily mean you don't like the people on your team or anything, but you just don't want to stay around them for too long at one time ... if that makes any sense.
