I say pass, You can't find ammo for it. You can't buy any of the good rounds, becouse they are LE/ Military only.

FWIW, that is a great deal, but...
I bought the FNP Tactical .45 instead.
Holds a ton of rounds,15+1, and is roughly the same size.

I do have big hands.
That gun is fun to shoot, but heavy, obviously.
Seems like it dosen't ever run out.

That is a steal! You better get that. It's worth almost twice that new.

I would own one, but the ammo that is "legit" for the gun is not available for civilian purchase. So, if you get the "Five-Seven" remember that there are restrictions on the type of ammunition you can purchase. Civilian ammo is not nearly as good as the military grade.

All I know is that if I could find one for $800 id buy it. When I looked on gb a couple weeks ago they were in the 15-2500 range.

MAIN POINT OF SELLING BELGIAN FIVE SEVEN PISTOL IS EXTREME PRICE OF WEAPON AND CARTRIDGE.
BELGIAN FIVE SEVEN IS WEAPON OF MAN WHO WEARS EXPENSIVE ITALIAN FASCIST SUIT OF HAND SEWING, DRIVE HUGE EXPENSIVE NAZI MERCEDES OF A.M.G. SHOP, SAIL ON MASSIVE YACHT TO GREEK ISLANDS. I THINK YOU GET PICTURE. BELGIAN FIVE SEVEN IS WEAPON THAT SAYS IS NO SUCH THING AS CONCERN OF MONEY.
FOR MAN WITHOUT EXPENSIVE SUIT, BIG BLACK MERCEDES, AND MASSIVE YACHT, BELGIAN FIVE SEVEN IS FOR PRETENDING OF BE RICH LIKE BLACK GANGSTER OF AMERICAN CITY WITH GOLD CHAINS OF LOW QUALITY AND JEWELS OF COLORED GLASS. WHEN YOU EXPLAIN USE OF BELGIAN FIVE SEVEN PISTOL IS ONLY FOR SHOOT MAN WITH BULLET VEST WITH CARTRIDGE ILLEGAL TO CIVILIAN, THIS MAN HAS NUCLEAR RAGE. WHOLE IDENTITY OF THIS MAN IS SPENT IN PRETEND PISTOL SHOWS HE IS RICH. IS VERY AMUSE.
FOR REST OF WORLD THERE IS 9 MILLIMETERS OF LUGER WHICH IS SAME WOUND FOR COST LESS.

BTT,
As already mentioned by many, yes, that's a great deal as far as how much you're paying for it. At that price you can prolly turn around and sell it for a nice profit. OTOH, the ammo was expensive and hard to come by BEFORE Sandy Hook. I hate to think what it's like now....
Well, that's mainly a factor of which side of the fence you fall one. Opinions on the 5.7X28 usually falls into one of two categories: it's a great gun and round that's more deadly than any other gun ever; for the civilian, it's a solution to a non-existent problem. (Obviously, I'm exaggerating a little on both counts. ) I fall more into the latter category.
One needs to remember the 5.7 was developed "in response to NATO requests for a replacement for the 9×19mm Parabellum cartridge and associated pistols and submachine guns.[1] NATO called for two types of weapons chambered for a new cartridge—one a shoulder-fired weapon, and the other a handheld weapon.[1] According to NATO, these new weapons, termed personal defense weapons (PDWs), were to provide 'personal protection in last-resort situations when the user is directly endangered by the enemy [...].' "
As a concealed carry weapon, although the 5.7 has a high mag capacity (20 rounds in standard mag), it's very bulky. The best self defense ammo is restricted to law enforcement personnel. Performance wise, velocity, bullet weight and energy of the 5.7 fired in a 5" barrel are akin to the 22 Magnum fired in a rifle. Remember, the best 5.7 ammo (deepest penetrating ammo) is NOT available to civilians.
Heaven forbid, but if I ever have to use a gun in self defense, I want something in my hand that has an excellent track record as a fight stopper. Thus far, I've not seen that w/ the 5.7, especially w/ the type of ammo that's available to us civilians. That may change some day, but for now I'll stick w/ my 9mm and 45 ACP.

might have an angle on getting one for around 800. worth it?

Plus, you get to say "effin" when people ask you what kind of gun you have.
So there's that.
So there's that.
