Now I see the z77 pro3 right smack dab in the middle of the pic I would think the power and reset buttons are connected properly

take a screw driver and run it across the pins on the motherboard where the power cable was connected That doesn't sound like the best idea

I wrote him off immediately. Guess my gut feeling was correct. BTW: This PSU was meant to be temporary. Jcole4lsu did tell me it wasn't enough but I wanted to get the build started and figured I could at least get the motherboard running. I will be purchasing a more qualified psu and giving this one to my nephew.

500w would be the minimum I would use on a computer with that Vid Card, much safer to get up to 650w. its enough to at least power this whole machine though.

yea, I should be getting something. I might have to buy that one I intended to buy later and see if that one works.

Really nice cable management there. Good luck with the problem.

Thanks for you contribution to the thread albeit completely useless. BTW, I'll clean it up when I'm sure that I have every connection correct and am about to close up the case.

to be clear, you arent getting ANYTHING right? no fans, no beeps, no nothing. if so - remove the front panel connector wires from the motherboard and use a small flat head screwdriver to jump start the board make sure the psu is plugged in and make sure the screwdriver touches NOTHING but the pins. you may have to try touching ever single combination of adjacent pins before it fires off

Nothing. The only sign of life I have seen is a couple led's blink on the gpu. I haven't seen them in awhile though.

Is your memory in DIMM slots 2 & 4? That's the default slots for two sticks installed. I can't get the ASRock site to download a manual. Looks like that part of their site is down. Your case could have a bad power switch or connector. Trace that wire all the way back to the connector on the front panel. I had that happen once with a case. Disconnect all the chassis fans. Only plug in the CPU fan. There may be a short somewhere.

Bout to head to work so I can't mess with it anymore. The manual told me to put the sticks in slots A1 and B1 so that is where they are at.

RAM shouldnt effect the computer not spinning fans or anything. the board should accept power and then provide an error code (beeps or lcd readout) if no RAM is detected. eta: dimm slots are different for each board. some want 1 and 3, some 1 and 2, some 2 and 4, and so forth.

OK, just checking on the slots. Try it with one stick in the default slot for one. Make it as bare bones a system as possible until you get power.

Shouldn't but I'd reduce everything down to bare minimum anyway and then add stuff.
