The word from on high is that the subject is still being mulled.

I'm sure it is. There was a time when I really wanted it to help me work out some stuff that I was thinking through in my head (on philosophy, physics, religious dogma, etc.), but honestly, I might not participate much on such a board if it ever gets going, since I've sort of entered a new phase lately. It's hard to know for sure though.

Fwiw, I used to love your posts on religion.

Are you still Religious? I could have sworn you are/were Catholic. Correct me if I am wrong. Thanks

Yep. I started going to mass again in summer 2011, and I still do. There was a huge checklist of issues I had with dogma that, at the time, I didn't think were believable, but I worked through it all bit by bit. That's sort of why I'm not quite so urgently wanting to discuss and debate religion so much anymore. To a large extent I've moved on to other things. But it's not for a lack of general interest though. I always have a habit of circling back to things in my life, so I'm sure I'll revisit all the same subjects later.

I haven't been to confession in about 12 years. I'm afraid that he may tell me I need to be reconfirmed.

Oddly enough, I was worried about that too, because I was sort of going through the motions as a teenager even as I was becoming a full blown atheist, so I was sort of thinking that it didn't count. Although I was really worried about it, the priest I talked to didn't really consider it a pressing concern. In general, priests find hearing confession a tedious chore, and it probably gets tiring hearing person after person worry about anal details that aren't really important in the larger scheme of things. At least that's my general impression...
