Lol. We have such inflated egos. The Russian winter and the choice to defend rather than conquer Italy lost him the war, not us.

Hitler was gawd awful as a military leader. As a union member and later as a leader he was however a great speaker. The military choices HE made cost him, if only he had listened to his advisers.

The problem is, when he made decisions they were usually wrong. That is not the mark if a military genius.

Seriously though Hitler has to be up there....only 70 years ago he was one or two mistakes away from taking over the entire world.

If by "having his way," you mean getting pushed back along the entire Eastern front then yes, yes he was having his way.

Robert E. Lee still considered himself an American throughout the war. Read "Recollections and Letters" by his son.

Disagree. He continually disregarded his generals advice, which led to his demise.

Stalin
Again, disagree. Militarily he was a joke. He basically used his troops as human shields. The only reason Moscow wasn't overrun was due to Hitler's idiocy to invade Russia during winter.

I agree that he was getting beat by Russians but how were the British getting along before us? What day completely changed the war and who were the leaders behind it?

Seriously, frick that terrorist. He's an embarrassment to American generals for the way he treated his own countrymen.
His "countrymen" left the United States, he didn't. His "countrymen" started a war they couldn't win and got their asses kicked and their homeland destroyed. Sherman's intensity mauled his combatant "countrymen" and crippled civilian ability to support his combatant "countrymen." Sherman helped shorten the war. He did his job.
