I'm sure you can teach us the details about O&G and fracking like banking and the Federal Reserve.

Well, I've watched...and I'll be starting on my letter to the local paper asap. Pretty much settles the whole fracking *dilemma*. I am so pissed, and so genetically inclined to go rogue when I see BLATANT LIARS wreaking havoc on the common folk, that I can only find consolation in Michael Savages' assertion that "Liberalism is a mental disorder"...and that those who are engaged in this stuff are REALLY SICK. And deserving of some degree of empathy. And it would be easy to lend, but for the PAIN that their mind game inflicts on others. Right now, my own brother is laying down there with the flu, his wife is in the hospital (Lallie Kemp) with pneumonia in both lungs because both waited too long to get treated...because his business is in the tank. Thanks to YOU KNOW WHO. Okay...I'm bailing on this computer...but this is the kind of stuff that makes me willing to tell Obama's jack-booted-thugs to KISS MY arse AND BRING IT ON. I will force those mf's to shoot me on my front porch before I'll bow to what is becoming a government based on LIES! I'm out!

Whether fracking is good or not, that aside. What does experience in an industry matter? For instance what does experience in well construction have to do with companies not disclosing chemicals used? There is a lot of secrecy in the fracking industry. Things are guarded under the 'trade secrets' blanket. Why are companies allowed to keep the chemicals they use a secret? I understand the element of trade secrets in business, but when something may effect all life on earth, then trade secrets cross the line. If there is no problem, disclose everything, put it all in the open. This documentary tonight was a rebuttal, an attack on a poorly made and inaccurate documentary.. nothing more.

Don't believe everything you read. You ever hear of an MSDS?

Yeah I'm not really sure where he is getting his info from because most companies do state what chemicals are in their fracking fluid. Oh and I hate Chesapeak BTW but thats a whole other topic.

Mmmh huh...tell that to those folks that are going to be LOSING their family farm because of the "boot on the neck" thugs like that woman that got up during the interview which was exposing her LIES. One thing I always had a knack for FT, is taking a look at relative scenarios and being able to predict future outcomes. That woman and her lawyer, those elitists at that California celebration of LIES ("Gasland"), the suing couple and the low-life plugging his fawned-over movie all have one thing in common. Delusion, and a religious-like committment to ram their beliefs down our throats by manipulating an ignorant electorate. If they'll do it in one instance, they'll do it in any instance. Guns/FastnFurious, income (re)distribution/'social justice', Benghazi, Healthcare, Immigration, CAP AND TRADE, all the insane policies which are designed to undermine failsafe Constitutional protections and guarantees re basic religious and economic Freedoms...are on the disingenuous political dialogue chopping block. Do yall think that woman and her lawyer will stop at anything Obama? If you'll WHOLEHEARTEDLY EMBRACE LIES...then the sky is the limit. The Obama administration is INFECTED with these zombies. Like the movie 'invasion of the body snatchers'...are you willing to believe a lie, 'for the cause'. "ABOVE ALL, to thine own self be true" (Biblical). Once that rule is broken..it's all downhill from there. That said, I was encouraged that at least those Government water testers held true against that deluded pair. We'll see; if Obama comes out full force with his "electricity will necessarily skyrocket" assault on our energy and attempts to clamp down our NG, then I'll assume that like the 'job crisis'...it's all part of the manufactured 'never let a good crisis go to waste', slash and burn political technique. Damn the collateral damage! And damn them that pull that crap...and as well them that enable it. Disgusting. But not unexpected. "Behold, I will send them GREAT DELUSION THAT THEY WILL BELIEVE A LIE" (Biblical). And..."professing themselves to be wise...they became fools". Live and learn. This one is gonna hurt.

Well, for one it's the difference between actually knowing what you're talking about as opposed to talking out of your arse with information you gleaned from a propaganda film and wikipedia. Not accusing anyone here, ya know...just sayin...hypothetically.
quote:
Why are companies allowed to keep the chemicals they use a secret?
because...
quote:
Things are guarded under the 'trade secrets' blanket.
and apparently:
quote:
I understand the element of trade secrets in business
So, it would seem you have answered your own question.

but when something may effect all life on earth
Thankfully hydraulic fracturing doesn't even come close to "effecting all life on earth"

Most companies are disclosing (and I said most, not all)... fracfocus.org is where most voluntarily are disclosing - more and more states are now requiring this type disclosure on chemicals, for the most part on this website. Industry has worked for over a year and a half to get this site set up, and it's working pretty well so far.
