If it's legal I wouldn't hide it. I don't hide the fact that I'm drinking a beer from my kids, so I would do the same with weed. If it's illegal, hide it or quit, but if you continue to smoke they'll find out unless you're really careful. As far as the hypocrisy of telling your kids not to smoke as you take a bong rip, I don't take issue with it because as the parent(s) you are the rule maker for your household. Just don't be surprised when they start smoking.

It is a little different than alcohol though. Much less harmful to users and the people around them than alcohol.

No offense to you and your thread Budda, but I have no idea why I let myself get sucked up in it. Y'all want to blaze in front of the little chirrens then do what you got to do. I'm out.

Hiding it will ultimately be a lot worse than being open about it. No one wnats their 12 year old blazing, but I just have not seen the culture of shame and hiding be very effective at stopping kids from doing things. If anything, it makes things worse because they start hiding their addictions.

I will say this, it's a lot easier to hide drinking from people than smoking. For me anyway. It's hard for me to not act high. It's far easier for me to seem normal when I'm drunk.

I'm pretty easy about weed. But I agree that kids should not be around or know about it through their parents. Very irresponsible parenting. When the kids approach 18, maybe be more open about it: I don't mind partaking every now and then. But it is not a habit and honestly don't understand why someone would feel the need to smoke every day. It becomes a crutch, holds you back, and can affect relationships.

What kind of Scotch are we talking here? He better be drinking quality, or his kids will grow up tasteless.

Agreed. That would be the real tragedy here.

I know, you always hear about people getting stoned and then beating up their ex. Oh wait, no, you hear about them getting stoned and beating space invaders on their X-Box. My bad.

oh yeah, that is true. You don't want your child to be drinking shitty scotch, hell you don't want your kid smoking schwag. No sense in giving him or her an unnecessary headache.

Just cause you don't emulate doesn't mean he can't.

I've never smoked cheap stuff. Never tried it until I was in college and had access to the real thing. I might not remember my first beer very well, but I don't think I'll ever forget the first time I hit a bong.

My first bong hit was off the biggest bong I've still seen to this day. Had to cap it with my hand and inhale five times to get it all. This was after about half a bottle of makers and it put me on my arse to say the least. I literally just layed on the carpet thinking about how awesome the carpet felt.
