I know how the a friend stories go but wanted to put this out there. Not going to bust out where he works.

I have not verified this nor do I know if I believe it but I have a friend who works at a store in the Baton Rouge area who was told by his higher up not to sell more than 10 boxes of ammo per customer per day and that it was from the ATF. I don't see a point to limiting the sales or how it could be legal to issue an "order" such as that. My personal feeling is that they are trying to spread the ammo sales (blaming ATF) but I don't see the reasoning for that either.

I think they are just trying to keep people for hoarding. I do not believe that the ATF gave these "orders". Just management trying to blame somebody besides themselves.

Nah your friend doesn't know what he's talking about.

The only reason to ration it is at the store level hoping they will piss off fewer customers.

ATF has nothing to do with this.

If any order or regulation ever does come down, it would be based on number of rounds, right? I mean, what constitutes a "box?" 50 rds? 100 rd value packs? 20 rds? 400 rd cans?

If they were stupid enough to just put a limit on "boxes" with no round count, manufacturers could just repackage in different intervals.

10 boxes? what would a box have to do with the ammount you have? A box of 20? A box of 100? A box of 50?

So now they are limiting cardboard boxes or the ammount of ammo?

the ATF would not limit by a generic term as "boxes"
they would limit by ammount

What store? Not trying to get your friend in trouble, but I'm sure the ATF can call and confirm this with the store manager. I'm sure the store manager is making policies and placing the blame on the ATF.

Sad how store managers think they need to regulate things. They are like the guy in the "hammer lane" doing 5 mph under the speed limit trying to prevent anyone from "speeding". Saving the world! Epic Fail at the God Syndrome.
