So we're in agreeance is what you're saying now? Are you admitting you have a weak case in saying he's a "great" quarterback? You're not good at this.

The list of QBs obviously changes constantly. Because I would have Flacco at 8 right now does not mean that Luck, Wilson, and RG3 could NEVER get in front of him. But today, they are not in front of him. Right now he is playing like a top 5 QB in the NFL. I would have him ranked at 8 behind:
Brees, Brady, Mannings, Rodgers - Eli 5th , other 4 in no particular order.
Roethlisberger and Ryan.
The only way he's playing like a top 5 quarterback right now is because there were only 4 left playing.

Right, exactly. Only one year. Today, there is no way I would put those guys in front of Flacco given what Flacco has done in his years in the league.
I would disagree because I think all three of those guys played at a higher level this year than Flacco.
And if you want to downgrade them on the strength of this year to consider a career as a whole you might consider looking at a guy like Rivers or Romo instead of Flacco - both of whom have career QB ratings 10 points higher than Flacco. Flacco drives me crazy because he is just so inconsistent

Or because he went into Denver and beat Peyton Manning head to head and then went into Foxbourough and Tom Brady head to head. I would say he is playing at a pretty high level though. Correct me when I am wrong.
Here is a link to the stats against Manning. There were 8 QBs left at that point in time since that is your argument so far. Just in case you forgot what happened that day...

I am basing my list on who I would want to lead my team at QB right now.
The 3 rookies all played fantastic. It was incredible to watch those guys play this year. RG3 was very effective in large part because of his ability to run and the zone read option. Lets see how that plays out for the next couple of years. I don't think it is a long term solution to offense. Defenses will start to have an answer for it. If he continues to play at the level he did this year he will jump Flacco. Luck threw a ton of interceptions this year. Granted, that was also attributable to being behind in games and having to throw more than some of the other guys. He did throw just about as many picks as TDs though. Not turning the football over is huge and as he gets older and more experienced I would expect this to change. When it does, he will probably move ahead of Flacco.
Romo just doesn't get the job done. He has had a TON of late game fall aparts in the last couple seasons. Rivers hasn't been able to win at all in SD for the last couple of seasons.
Running through Denver and NE like Flacco has this postseason is making his case for a top 8 QB a lot stronger. He went head to head with 2 of the best QBs in the history of the NFL and completely outplayed both of them.

What's he's doing great right now is not turning the ball over and playing within the system. Just because he played a part in beating those teams, still doesn't equate to him being a great quarterback. He's doing good... but he's certainly not lighting the world on fire.

I can look at those stats and twist it however I want to. I could say he barely complete 50 percent of his passes.
So he's top 5 in a field of 8. Way to go out on the limb there buddy.

He has thrown for 571 yards and 6 TDs with no picks on the road against the great Denver Broncos defense and the NE Patriots. That is lighting the world on fire in 2 games no matter what.

Ok if that makes you feel better little guy.

Says the guy who thinks Joe Flacco is a great quarterback.

wait were the other 21 starters + special teams for both teams not there or something?

which is fine - but I'd take all three of the great rookie QBs over Joe Flacco. JMO obviously but I'm probably not alone.

Understand and respected...but neither am I.

you're not alone
you just seem to value Flacco more than other people who posts on the MSB

Boldin is/was great, people forget the seasons he had in Arizona and if Baltimore threw the ball more he would still be putting up terrific numbers. The offense has stymied him since he went there really

He already had a ring when he used the elite comment and was laughed at. Ring #2 is when he got his due.

Either Flacco is an elite QB or John Harbaugh is an elite coach for having an 8-4 record in the playoffs with a non-elite QB. You don't win that many games in the playoffs without having an elite QB or HC.

what about a good QB, a good HC, and an elite D?

The Titans were like that in the late '90s, early '00s with Jeff Fisher and Steve McNair. They won five playoff games in nine years.
