I can't think of a situation when the second part of that "equation" would ever come about though? At least not in the context of everyone having a camera and access to the internet. Once a major college program finds someone that no-one knows about, film is going to surface and it'll show something that explains why the school went after this unknown kid.

Tyrus Thomas was a "diamond in the rough" under your definition I guess, but you can't really give the coaches a lot of credit for knowing he'd grow half a foot during his RS year.

I guess I'm just saying the evaluation and finding the guy no-one is aware of is the more impressive and important aspect for a coaching staff.
