Yep, that's a bad call. What do you want, a consolation spot in the Super Bowl?

No doubt, Atlanta should jump the AFC winner and play the 9ers in the super bowl. It shouldn't matter that they didn't win their own conference and lost to the 9ers at home.

You should be thanking Bowman. If White had run free, that poorly thrown pass behind him might have been picked off you'd have had no shot at all of winning.

quote:

LEGAL CONTACT WITHIN FIVE YARDS
Article 1 Legal Contact Within Five Yards.
Within five yards of the line of scrimmage, a defensive player may chuck an eligible receiver in front of him. The defender is allowed to maintain continuous and unbroken contact within the five-yard zone, so long as the receiver has not moved beyond a point that is even with the defender.

ILLEGAL CONTACT WITHIN FIVE YARDS
Article 2 Illegal Contact Within Five Yards.
Within the five-yard zone, if the player who receives the snap remains in the pocket with the ball, a defender may not make original contact in the back of a receiver, nor may he maintain contact after the receiver has moved beyond a point that is even with the defender.

It looks like Bowman bumped White/White ran into him and then Bowman went with him and then swatted the pass (thrown behind White, I might add).

looks like the ball is on the ground to me without control

I don't know how anyone can say that was a catch.

Best still I've seen yet but can't see where his hand is relative to the underside of the ball. I'd lean towards probably not a catch based on that shot only. Probably not "incontrovertible evidence" but without other angles I'll give you that for now.

Anyone complaining about officiating after blowing a 17 point lead should be ashamed of themselves. No matter who you pull for. Seriously.

Players who constantly complain and push off on almost every play don't get the calls.
