How was that an excuse? Our defense sucked, and people want to blame Ryan.

In the second half, Ryan threw a pick and lost a fumble. He played just as bad as the defense in the second half. (In the first half he played great.)

So it's the defenses fault Vernon Davis wasn't covered? It couldn't have been because he's a great player and got open or the Niners game planed well? Nah...

you could say the same about LSU and Bama FWIW, breh.

Really, breh? I don't root against Alabama except for one game a year. The game they play LSU and any game that helps LSU get into the SEC Champ. I could care less what Bama does in games that don't matter directly to LSU. Fans that do that are the same fans that still have Saban's junk in their mouth.

I think the Niners best is better than the Falcons best, though.

I think the 9ers have played the most complete game this season, but I still think this Falcons team failed to perform at their "best" for a whole game. Perhaps that's the larger issue, that they are incapable of playing at their best for 60 minutes, in which case, you're probably right? Dunno though, offensively I like our weapons, shy of RB1. Rogers is good as a #2/Sproles type back but not in the up the gut runs as much. Turner is too old/too much mileage. We did make their defense look silly for 30 minutes though.

You don't get it. Last week, we couldn't cover the Seahawks tight end.

Well one thing you guys can take away from it is getting over the hump of winning a playoff game.

True. Losing TG most likely will hurt as I don't think we have anything at even 75% of his ability to fill the void. Having a full set of draft picks to work with will be nice I guess. Time to start looking at mock drafts and likely landing spots. Need DL pass rusher and an Alfred Morris like steal at RB in the later rounds. Would be ok with going 0-16 next year to take Jadaveon Clowney.

Now here is a Falcons fan I could hang with. Good post.

I always liked TG; I was sorry to see him leave KC and go to Atlanta. As much as I want the Falcons to lose, I actually hope he keeps playing. He's still one of the best. Something tells me he'll be back.

I'll eat crow but god dammit we were the better team. Can't believe those turnovers and officiating.

I can be obnoxious sometimes too but I will admit I am much less emotionally invested in pro teams in general. SECCG hurt... this one was maybe less so because I felt like we were at a slight disadvantage going in. As good as Bama was this season, I liked our matchup a little better in that game. Surprised it wasn't due to Kaepernick doing damage with his legs though.
