the offense rates well, but is it just because they have talented individuals making plays? atthehive has touched on this a bit.

i guess it doesnt really matter right now if they are scoring this well. there is time to gel in a system

i really believe its youth/inexperience and a lack of talent. takes time to learn defense at this level with rotations/scouting reports. one false step, one second napping and the possession is over. they really need davis to anchor the defense and hes just not ready to do that yet.

hopefully we see improvement as these guys grow up more together. certainly if it isnt better next year, monty will not be long for this job.

Update to the update-

NBA.com just redid their stats site and it's very comprehensive- typical advanced stats plus clutch stats, shot charts, splits, etc . If you're interested in the numbers, you have to check it out. If you don't know much, they have a nice glossary to help out.

I ran the team #s from the time Gorodn first played (12/29)through the break. I couldn't filter out the games Gordon missed, but this is still a nice look at how the team has stacked up with the rest of the league over the last 6 weeks.

11th in ORating
19th in DRating

The last two games- played without Gordon- really helped out the DRating.
