Actually, Halo 4 is A LOT better than Halo 2 or 3 were 2 months after they came out. Did you even play these games from the get-go? They were absolute shite. I remember how pissed everyone was at Halo 2 after it came out. SMG start on maps like Ascension? Super-jumping on top of every map? Sword glitching at someone 1/4 mile away? The noob combo? People were bashing Bungie right and left for ruining the franchise. It took several months, multiple map updates, custom gametypes, and LOTS of tweaking to get it where everyone remembers it. Halo 4 has its flaws, yes, but it is a lot closer than its predecessors were at the same time. Right now it is mostly missing maps. Yeah, the DMR is too easy to use and bloom is stupid, but that is why MLG (and now VGL) is going towards a BR start. Have you played very many customs with the newest settings? It isn't bad. I just don't think it is fair to compare a 2 month game that hasn't received any major updates yet to a game that had multiple years to get it right. Just be patient.

Plasma pistol + Magnum combo was hilarious in the first few months. Sword glitch was nearly impossible to properly use if the other team was worth a shite and a good sniper laughs at super jumpers unless they got one guy up with a lead and the other three quit. That was kinda gay.

Yes, and all of that happened in the first 2 months. Do you remember playing assault on Zanzibar before they patched the time limit? As long as the attackers were holding the bomb then the game wouldn't end so they would just super jump up onto the roof somewhere and just leave their controller and wait it out. There were a lot of problems with the game when it started is all I'm trying to say. These things were corrected over time and it made it into a better game. The same will be the case for Halo 4.

Have they added H2/H3 style number rankings yet?

Not yet, and I'm not convinced they are going to do it in the manner that H2 and H3 did. I haven't been keeping super close tabs on it, but from the last I heard they are going to add a ranking system but make it so that it doesn't display next to your name and that you would have to visit Halo Waypoint or something to view it. Basically embed it within the account similar to the true-skill. This would be a HUGE mistake IMO and I am hoping that they change their minds on this. But yes, some sort of ranking system is on the way, but it isn't here yet.

Dude not one person on here is complaining about halo 4 because of glitches. 343 tried to turn halo into something it wasn't. Kill cams, instant respawn, no set power weapon spawns, perks, customizable load outs. I could've just described twenty different games. They dropped the ball on Call of Battlefield Combat Evolved alright? I like the weapons tho. And the knights were badass looking. But that hardly makes this game a worthy successor.

It was used as an example as to why it is silly to compare the end-result of a game that had several years to be fine-tuned to one that just came out. There are already several custom maps/gametypes out that are perfectly playable. No kill cams, delayed respawns, timed power weapons, no perks, no load-outs, a radar only your team can see that show X's when people die, etc. Yes, matchmaking might continue to be a joke but IMO they weren't very good in Halo 2 or 3 save for MLG playlist.

Halo 4 doesn't even have doubles or snipes. Halo 4 is inferior to Halo 3 in almost every way.

Sorry man but the majority of people I know and play with don't get on halo to not play matchmaking. It's the central hub if you will. Just because I'm able to fix what 343 got wrong in a custom game doesn't make up for it.

Doubles is coming. Snipes was available for a bit but got taken away. Guess it wasn't as popular.

This is everything that is wrong with matchmaking. People don't fricking play regicide but snipers and doubles, two of the series most popular game types, get a single week. Who cares if doubles is coming for a single week to get replaced by grifball? Snipers had plenty of play, but they still took it off. I guess they just don't give a shite about what game types the community wants. This + No ranking system + Boltshot + DMR + shite Maps + Ordinance + Perks = Tied for the worst halo game of all time. At least the SP was great.

Well my point still stands. 2 months into Halo 2, matchmaking consisted of spawning on Coagulation with SMGs, never-ending assault matches, etc. Everyone complained about the energy sword, lack of long-range starting weapon, and the noob combo were ruining the game and not what Halo was all about. Now people look back and many thing Halo 2 was the best of the franchise. It just takes time and I haven't lost hope yet.

Considering Halo 2 was the first XBL game Bungie worked on, balance and glitches were bound to happen. Im not even upset about the balance and glitches in Halo 4, because it is their first game . However that doesn't excuse them for lying to the fan base about bringing halo to it's roots, when all they wanted to do was make reach 2.0

343 will cater to their audience if they want people to keep playing. Simple as that. Like I said, they haven't even had a major update yet! I'm willing to give them a little while to fix some issues before I throw up the white flag. Yeah, they tried to put their "twist" on some stuff, and I hope that they are able to realize what needs to be changed to cater to what we want, and what they have some freedom in to play with.

This. Halo 2 glitches > halo 4 features.
