So you're saying the coaches just have fall practice for fun? They make no determinations from it. I'd be willing to bet right now he is not of the pitchers the coaches would feel confident putting in in an important game.

To the extent that coaches use fall practice to sort out the good players from the bad, they probably shouldn't do that.

You can tell who the athletes are, and not much else. It makes players better to reduce the effects of the long layoff from summer to spring, but performance in fall has almost on bearing on performance in spring. At least that's been my experience.

I mean, shite, you have HOFers in MLB who were notoriously bad hitters in April ... in the regular season. What does that tell you about pre-pre-season?
