Fall means nothing.

A player who goes through fall practice will tend to play better in the spring, but really, that's about all you can gather. The actual performances are almost totally meaningless.

As for people holding out hope for him, was there some kind of injury he received after the 2011 season? I know that pitchers who trend down tend to keep trending down, but nonetheless, pitching careers have been resurrected. It's not unheard of.

Just looked more like a continaution from last year to me. I hope he tears it up this spring, but I'm not expecting to count on him much.
