The thread title put in quotation marks words that never came out of Schieffer's mouth, and that's why I called it a fabrication. Are you okay with such a dishonest use of quotation marks? Without the quotation marks, I would have still called the thread title misleading since Schieffer never equated Nazis to the NRA. Schieffer actually said that Presidents in the past have taken on much more formidable oppenents than the NRA and implied that the NRA should be a pushover compared to Nazis, segregationists and Al Qaeda.
EDIT: However I will make this comparison. When LBJ signed the Civil Rights Bill, he said that the Democrats had just lost the South for the next 50 years. If Obama strongarms the rural state Democrats (10 Democratic Senators have NRA "A" ratings) into voting for any susbstantive gun control legislation, the Democrats will lose the non-Southern rural states for the next 50 years as well, and the days of Montana sending two Democratic senators to D.C. will be over.
