will this bring about federal agents taking on american citizens in shoot outs?
As someone who is a child of the 60's - I seen the federal troops in Arkansas and Alabama - their weapons were loaded - folks going to lose if the think they can take on the federal guys.

I think the south and midwestern states should petition the Federal Government for autonomous rule citing the vast differences in values from the west coast and northeast. Union remains intact and everyone can live the way they want.
That is the way our country was founded to be. That is the reason the Constitution limits Federal Gov't power are reserves all other power to the states. But here in the past 60 years the Federal Gov't has slowly but surely been overstepping their boundaries, and now is increasing that power at a much faster rate.

This is an easy fix. Mississippi, the poorest country in the Union, just won't get all the Federal money they so desperately need to appear even halfway viable. I say let them suffer
I'd be fine with that. All it would do is cut off welfare support to the vast amount of moochers on it in MS. The working class of MS can hold our own just fine. And there wouldn't be enough of those citizens to vote them out of office, because if they had their way then our current Administration wouldn't have been voted in.

The federal handouts stop and the recipients move to other states. Mississippi begins the road to recovery. GREAT PLAN!

It's the same thing with the federal drug busts of medical marijuana in CA. Miss may not enforce it but the Feds will.
Completely different scenario. Feds were enforcing a current federal law not bound by a Constitutional Amendment. Plus pot smokers are lazy and won't fight back. We have always had guns, it is our right, and that gun is the very thing we use to fight for that right. Trying to take that away is a lot harder than taking a plant away from a hippie smoking it.

Mississippi has no gun registration nor do you need a license to carry a weapon in a vehicle.
Yep. And can shoot anyone that comes onto your property and threatens you, no questions asked. Vehicle is considered an extension of your household. And State law allows Concealed Carry on college campuses.

The people that elected the current governor and lt governor in MS have plenty of ways to support themselves. You, on the other hand, probably don't. It should occur to you that MS's elected officials are doing exactly what the people who elected them want them to do.

This is why corkgobblers like Ethan feel MS must be crushed and drop to their knees for the Savior like he so willingly does.

You'd be correct if the Feds were attempting to enforce a law that has been ruled unconstitutional but we're talking about a law that hasn't even been passed much less ruled unconstitutional. Not every law restricting a Constitutional right is unconstitutional. That seems to be your suggestion. And there has never been a case which states there can be no restrictions on the 2nd Amendment. Scaliar in Heller wrote:
quote:
There seems to us no doubt, on the basis of both text and history, that the Second Amendment conferred an individual right to keep and bear arms. Of course the right was not unlimited, just as the First Amendment ’s right of free speech was not, see, e.g., United States v. Williams, 553 U. S. ___ (2008). Thus, we do not read the Second Amendment to protect the right of citizens to carry arms for any sort of confrontation, just as we do not read the First Amendment to protect the right of citizens to speak for any purpose.
But it's a bit premature and in fact grandstanding for any state to claim what these are saying considering no law has been passed.

Grandstanding in your eyes, prudent course of action for others. Maybe you are butthurt that states are beating the Savior to the punch.
