You are correct. Here is the rest. • “$30 million of one-time grants to states to help their school districts develop and implement emergency management plans.” • $50 million to help 8,000 schools “create safer and more nurturing school climates.” • $15 million to “provide “Mental Health First Aid” training for teachers.” • $40 million for school districts to “work with law enforcement, mental health agencies, and other local organizations to assure students with mental health issues or other behavioral issues are referred to the services they need.” • $25 million for state-based strategies that support “young people ages 16 to 25 with mental health or substance abuse issues.” • $25 million to “offer students mental health services for trauma or anxiety, conflict resolution programs, and other school-based violence prevention strategies.” • $50 million to “train social workers, counselors, psychologists, and other mental health professionals.” The president’s proposals to ban high capacity magazines and “military-style assault weapons” will be costly to implement, if they are passed. Those costs are either unknown or haven’t been released. The 1994 Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act, which included the assault weapons and high capacity magazine ban (that expired in 2004), authorized the expenditure of $30.2 billion dollars, or about $45 billion in today’s dollars.

Care to explain what you mean with a link or something? Resource officers in the liberal world are more people paid well to sit at a desk and do nothing. But I will patiently wait for your point and link.
As I stated in the other thread, last month this board talked about the SRO in Tenn who held off a gunman in a school as seen in this youtube video LINK Didn't you post in those threads?

No, I don't think I did post in those threads. My son (a very wise and intelligent young man) sent this to me.

Don't be silly, Hitler and Obama aren't in the same class. Hitler didn't have any black kids in his photoshoot.

Yeah. Those school counselors will protect the children by talking the shooter to death.

Really only small municipalities have money problems. Bigger ones, like the feds, are always just bitching because they want more money to do the same thingquote:
$20 million to “give states stronger incentives to make [relevant] data available [for background checks]
This is fed stuff. FFLs dont call Barney Fife when they do a background checkquote:
“$14 million to help train 14,000 more police officers and other public and private personnel to respond to active shooter situations.”
Why can't they just get the on-the-job training that is already available? Police Unions FTWquote:
$10 million for the Centers for Disease Control to conduct further research, including investigating the relationship between video games, media images, and violence.
WTF does the CDC have to do with any of this? Center for Disease Controlquote:
$20 million to expand the National Violent Death Reporting System
FBI already does thisquote:
$150 million to “put up to 1,000 new school resource officers and school counselors on the job.”
$150 fricking million dollars for 1,000 more cops, are you shitting me?quote:
$30 million of one-time grants to states to help their school districts develop and implement emergency management plans.
Already in place. Have been strongly in place since 9/11 IMHO.quote:
$50 million to help 8,000 schools “create safer and more nurturing school climates
Teacher's Union FTWquote:
$50 million to “train social workers, counselors, psychologists, and other mental health professionals
Don't they go to school for this exact thing? Don't they already get paid for this exact thing? So by my calculations, only $105 million is needed to keep exactly what we have in place plus some mental health awareness

Few things:
quote:
$4 billion for the president’s proposal “to help keep 15,000 cops on the streets in cities and towns across the country.” (That is roughly $266,000 per police officer.)
1. I hate this. I like cops on the streets. I hate that the feds are funding them. This goes back to Clinton. This is a state and local duty let the locals deal with this. And of course, just like highway funds, if state don't follow whatever rules the feds set up, these funds will be with-held. 2. Using kids as props. Meh. Politicians gonna politic. 3. Obama=hitler? I get the policy analogy, but just think some in this thread are pushing it a tad too far.

Regarding special funding for police. Before Obama's speech where I am from in NC we already pulled from the combo of state hoopies, sheriffs, cops to go on duty, to guard the schools. I have a severe problem with spending 1.5 billion to basically do nothing but possibly fund the unions or something. There is no transparency.Obama has wasted billions on green solydra companies. He is a complete failure-sorry to burst your bubble. Regarding Obama=Hitler. Yeah I know. Liberals all called Bush Hitler. But as I see it, if the shoe fits wear it and sorry but Obama usurped congress on too many things and is corrupt beyond the word. And his gun control, including the fast and furious cover-up and the benghazi mess of lies. As well as his funding terrorists really has a lot of people AWAKE.
