Lol, you don't know anything about Sumlin if you think he is going to go coach Oregon. There is a greater chance that I will be Oregon's HC

Oregon is a better job. Having said that, it wouldn't surprise me if he stayed at A&M given that he hasn't been there long and he is in the middle of building that program. He may want to be the guy who takes a program to the next level instead of inheriting a program that is already at that level.

It's gonna be a really big raise if Oregon comes calling. It's going to be in the 4M-5M range.

Oregon is a national brand now so they can recruit top 5 classes with ease. Eugene, Oregon >>>>> College Station. Nike money. Easier to win in the PAC12 than SEC. Really it's not even close.
Sumlin is an aTm guy. he's not going anywhere.

This is like the Pac-12 equivalent of Texas fans thinking they are gonna hire Saban. A&M has more money than God, people. If his hat is in the ring, it's only to get a raise.

With the rumors of NCAA trouble circling Oregon I don't see a coach at an established program (not to mention a coach with a returning Heisman winner) jumping ship to go to Eugene JMO

Before the Fiesta Bowl somebody leaked that they'd just promote their OC when Kelly.

While I agree he isn't going anywhere, to say he is an A&M guy is a stretch. He's from Alabama and played collegiately at Purdue. He coached for one or two years as an assistant at A&M in the early 2000s, but other than that and his current HC position there, he's never been associated with the school. Now, he'll turn into an A&M guy over time and success, but he is not that at this time.

I think it clearly is. The connection with Nike makes it better. People are so quick to look at A&M this year jump to too many conclusions. If you look at A&M over the last 20 years, you'd have a different opinion. If 4 years from now, A&M is a top tier SEC school, it will be because Sumlin (or some other coach) has developed it into one...not because the program is inherently at that level.

I agree with this too. I would think it might come down to what motivates Sumlin. Is it where he lives, is it winning championships, is it money, is it getting to the NFL? His system, as it is run now, is going to do much better on the West coast. He's going to probably have Manziel for only next season. Hard to figure that he'd leave now, but long term, he may have an eye out there. Let him run the gauntlet here one more season, even with the likes of a Manziel, and I think things may become a bit more clear.

Sorry to piss on your dick but Oregon has never even been remotely close to having a top 5 recruiting class.

Oregon has the 44th ranked recruiting class for 2013 according to Rivals.

What does that have to do with it? And its funny Oregon has been consistently a top 5 program over the past five years without a great recruiting class. Think if they actually had a good recruiting coach

Which means nothing right now. This is fairly typical, it'll change.

If Vegas puts a line on whether he declares for the draft after next season or not, what do you think the line would be? The kid already acts like he's in the NFL. Time will tell, but in my book, odds are I'll get the last laugh here.
