Black Ops 2: Lag switcher caught

while looking through the videos of subscribers i follow, i noticed a link to one of elpresadors vidz, and title was about a lag switcher.
Naturally, i have to watch, his shooting is so horrible, i figured it was his typical bad game play, but alas, guy was caught red handed, using the lag switch. Just complete bullsheyat, that this is going on, in the game.
Best to watch with sound down.

We caught a couple boosters on killcam once. Round ends, killcam pops up and it's a guy kneeling down, shoots the enemy, enemy spawns right back in front of him, shoots him in head again. They immediately left the game.

I still have my lag switch from early PS2 days, when I was young used to roll that shite on SOCOM it was hilarious.
Still works on some PS3 games, but they have new and improved ones specifically for Blops, wireless ones at that, probably what that guy was using.
I believe you have to be host though, otherwise it doesn't work, so you need a top notch connection.

So does the guy just hit a button every time he sees someone to freeze them? I've heard of lag switches, but have never seen how they work.

Yea it's a button. They usually make them a foot switch so they just tap it with their foot and keep their hands on the controller.

They're pretty easy to make too. All you need a an extra cat5 cable and any simple switch. Hell the old school way was to use a light switch.

I remember with Halo 2, a friend told me that you could unplug the modem for a few seconds and do the same thing. Guess back then, it was a 2 man job.

I don't see the fun in lag switching, for either side? You're eliminating any sort of competition, where's the fun in that. Yea you're k/d is great, but you cheated.
