This is simply not true. In what way is this an advantage for the offense?

You are still allowed to fake a pickoff to second or third. A pitcher could still perform a pick-off to third by lifting his leg looking like he would be delivering it to the plate and if the baserunner took off too soon the infielders would yell "runner" and the pitcher could still turn and throw the ball to second.

great..now I can't wait for some drunk dad to be screaming at a USSSA game that a 53 fake is a balk....

great...

I can't even count how many runners at 3rd.. my kid has picked off by them being lazy.. in fact.. he has been picked off TWICE... like this himself... thinking the pitcher was just faking him..

So, this brings up my one question with regards to this. What if the runner on 1st breaks as you describe, and the pitcher stops his throw to third, but instead of continuing to 2nd, the runner heads back to first? Is the pitcher then unable to attempt a throw to first because he already faked to 3rd?
