On top of that, he had his take on Jodie Foster speech. I realize Jodie’s speech was a rambling mess, but under the circumstances Tarantino probably should have left that alone. About Foster’s speech he said, “I can’t begin to explain it now because … well, I’m not quite sure what exactly sprung from her heart and tumbled out of her mouth.”

That was interesting because his live bit about how great he is at writing the scenes during his acceptance speech and how everybody should basically just shut up and agree with him at the writer’s table didn’t come off too well. It sounded like he really just wanted everybody to acknowledge how great he is, which by the way he is, no doubt.

I know he’s beloved here, but I must say, I learned a lot about him last night. You have to wonder what it is really like to work for him.

Does it say anything about the context, or was he just explaining how some people thought he should remove some of the racism and violence from Django?

Also, I have no problem with what he said about Jodie Foster. It seems like his way of saying she was probably nervous.

He's nuts. But every genius is nuts to some degree.

I have never been the biggest fan of Quentin Tarantino. I think he's an overrated, arrogant and pompous arse.

That being said...reading the story, and hearing about how people reacted to his saying the N-word, it really makes me sad to see where we have come as a society. On the one hand, it is strictly forbidden for an entire race of people to use a nonsensical sounding word. On the other hand, it's perfectly okay for another race of people to use said word in whatever fashion or context they so choose. I just find the reasoning behind it (It's different when a black person says it!) to be a pretty big cop out. But whatever.

I also want to applaud Tarantino for saying what everyone was thinking at the time. Most people were wondering what the hell Jodie Foster was talking about during her ramblings at the Globes last night. Despite what people are saying this morning, everyone had their own interpretation for what she was trying to say. Clearly her message didn't get across to a few people.

I wonder what Michael Richard (Seinfeld) thinks about this.

The funny thing is Tarantino didn't say it conversation. He said the word when he was questioned about using in his movies. He's clearly not the kind of guy who is gonna dance around subjects and say "n-word" "f-word" etc.

He was most definitely drunk the whole night. His table seemed like the only one not filled with squares. I was expecting the camera to pan across his table to find that Bill Clinton had just pulled up a chair and ordered a drink.

Like another poster said, I'm pretty sure he would use the N-word when talking about the N-word. There's nothing wrong with using it in that context especially when you are discussing the word.

He said the N Word in an interview with Howard Stern recently. He said it also in an interview with Sway (A black guy)

But the context wasnt racist. Neither was this.

I heard him say it on XM radio on Jamie Foxx's show

I don't think he has malicious or hateful intent so I think it's ok, but then again I'm not black

The word isn't going anywhere so we can choose to use it as societal wedge or we can move on

If he was using it for a discussion of the n word, it's fine

What he said about foster was the truth.

Nothing to see here

Yeah, when Tarantino uses it, who really cares. He's notorious for dropping the N bomb all the time anyway, which has made him the enemy of Spike Lee and Katt Williams.

Some people are insufferable.. there is nothing wrong with the way he's been using it lately, if you draw attention to it, only makes it worst, ignore it and give it 0 power and you win.. instead you end up pissy and it's pointless.

i honestly don;t see the harm of it...he was asked about the work in the movie, and addressed the question by using the word.

honestly Media is the driving force behind the percieved "horror" that the work being used should instill - which is bullshite.

glad he won screenwriter and even happier CW won for Actor.
