Worms. They cook out of meat, you will be fine never had a problem eating them. Mainly see this in big ducks.

See more of them in spoonies than anything else but mallard will come in second. I get enough duck without taking a chance on one. I know its safe to eat if cooked well but can't bring myself to try it.
