Why did the clock keep running at the end of the 3rd?

The seahawks receiver walked out of bounds with :09 left. The clock stopped for a moment then started running again. I've seen it happen before, but I thought out of bounds meant clock stoppage. I know there's the forward progress rule (which shouldn't affect the clock IMO), but he was still moving forward.

Clock doesn't stop in Qs 1 and 3 for out of bounds. I think.

Didnt they change it where OOBs only stopped the clock at the end of the halves? Or am i thinking of something else?

That's what I'm wondering. Seems to me it's something between the NFL and TV networks.

Clock only stops the last few minutes of each half when a player goes OB

Clock stops until the ball is ready for play. Done to speed the games up. Aka so they can have more commercials.

That pretty much negates the whole get out of bounds to stop the clock strategy though..which is important to the game.

Look up the NFL clock rules. The clock only stops when a receiver goes OOB in the last 2 minutes of the first half or the last 5 minutes of the second half, I believe.

they want to pack as many ads in as possible but networks also don't want games to go on for more than 3 or 3 and a half hours. Obvious solution is tweak the rules so we get less football. It's complete bullshite and I'm getting mad just thinking about it.

Me too. I get even more pissed at the way they have ruined kickoffs.

It's dumb but the clock does stop in the crucial time. What I've said is if a team is trying to run out the clock early in the 4th they have an advantage because they can run sweeps and stuff and even if it goes OOB some time will still run

Are you not reading what quite a few people have said? It's a rule that it starts again once the ball is set for play except for the end of the halves. It'll keep happening for a few more minutes of this game and in the game later

Yes. I read it. I understand it's the rule. Now that I know the rule, I'm commenting on how I feel about the rule. Thanks though
