Depends what you want. If youre into indie movies and tv shows get hulu, but if you want older shows and newish movies get netflix.

If you have DVR, Netflix. If you don't have cable at all, Hulu Plus.

Hulu only if you want recent shows. BUT...the damn paid version still has advertisements.

I would hit Netflix. You can still use free hulu for the latest episodes of new shows.

Ive had both and cancelled Hulu. If you own cable, it's just sort of pointless. That and I prefer movies/documentaries > TV Shows(but it still has a good amount of those too).

Doing my free week of Hulu now just to catch up on seaosn 2 of Scandal which isn't on netflix yet..
I will be immediately canceling after the free trial.

One single episode had 6..SIX commercial interruptions.

They won't see a penny of my money.

And if that's not enough, it's always the exact same commercial on repeat. Drove me freakin nuts

Canceled cable and got both. I love not paying so much money for entertainment. If I had to live without one of the other I'd give up Hulu Plus because if I truly wanted to watch commercials and network TV I'd just tune in to those networks at the time of original broadcast.

Is any content on a Roku device free?
Or is everything a subscription service

Yes... Crackle, for one, and there are other apps to various content.

I love my Roku.

Sounds like netflix. That's ridiculous that hulu still has commercials after you pay. They've always struck me as the most "jewish"(no disrespect to actual jewish people) of the entertainment websites. Thanks, everyone.

it really annoys the hell out of me that Hulu Plus has commercials.

I really don't think you should have to deal with those if you are paying for a service like that.

Crackle is ok since its free and the choices have SLOWLY gotten better but it seems like they just throw their commercials in at specific times rather than figuring out spots where the breaks aren't jarring. So if you can get past that its a decent service.

IMO Netflix is te best pay service for streaming.

Amazon rime is ok but its format suuuuuucks and makes it a pain to find stuff. (at least it did last time I tried it, perhaps they have had an update.)
