Modern Family characters

I feel like the more I watch the show the more I realize Phil is the only character I like, the show is funny, but he is the only one that makes me laugh consistently. Most of the other characters are actually annoying, especially Cam and Gloria. They are too predictable.
Anyone else feel the same way?

Cam and Gloria are there for the other characters to roll their eyes at them and make snide one-liners when they do something stupid or outlandish.

Modern Family plot generator:
Cam and Mitchell squabble over something ridiculous.
Claire freaks out and acts bitchy to everyone. Phil is awesome
Jay and Gloria fight about Jay being a crotchety old man.
Everyone reaches a cute, "meaningful" ending because they are family and like totally love each other.
Fin
It is well done show and still funny at times, but it is way too predictable to be one of my favorites.
