How is it not relevant? Sure to a simpleton like you it doesn't seem relevant, but let me break it down for you.
You are under the impression that the gun is what kills. Not the person behind it. So you attack the gun because it is an inanimate object and looks "scawwwy". So if, by your rationale, we are going to go after objects as being murderers, then you must look at all objects that lead to death.
Hammers and bats kill more people in the U.S. every year than guns, so that's one.
Heart disease is the #1 killer in the US. Wisconsin is known as the cheese state, so we can now make Cheese and Wisconsin illegal.
Vehicles lead to more deaths in the US than guns, so we must now make vehicles illegal.
Your argument is one based off ignorance and stupidity.

The bat, I can run away from it and survive. If the shooter was only armed with a bat, it's highly doubtful he would've killed anyone especially since he was smaller in stature.

How does making guns "illegal" prevent someone, who's intention was....MURDER?
If murder is illegal, and the criminal is disregarding that criminal act. Do you really believe that making a gun illegal will matter to a murderer?

PM wants to play numbers game on Assault Rifles, since 1-8-11 to today (The shooting examples he gave out) 49 people died by these rifles. 49 in two years.
He never would answer the question about the other deaths.

It's about risk to ones life. As much as we say you can chew gum and walk at the same time, it still comes from a finite bucket of resources to enable change. I would say eliminating self driving(allow taxis, designated drivers, buses, etc) between the hours of 8PM and 3 AM would save 20k lives each year. Shouldn't that be a bigger focus than saving a few hundred?

Driving and cars serve a purpose in society. Can you tell me what purpose guns serve? What are they useful for in modern society? I think they help men with low testosterone feel better about themselves.

The baseball bat, actually. It is much easier to get one (or just make your own version, for that matter). AR-15's are expensive and not easy to obtain unless you happen to steal one from mom.
