How many of these underclassman were redshirted?

6 out of 10 were at LSU for 4 FULL YEARS. I was sure as hell ready to leave college after 4 years as well.

Reid, Simon, Ware, and Wing were at LSU for 3 years.

The NFL CBA environment is why you will rarely see top talent like we had redshirt anymore. Might as well use them for the three years they will be here. Hence, why we played so many freshman this year.

For the most part yeah, but the 09 class had a few rare type cases.

Brockers was RSd to grow into being a DT, Mingo was about the size of a safety when he showed up on campus, OLinemen can still usually use that RS year and that was Faulk's situation. Logan didn't really see the field at all until his RS Sophomore year if I'm not mistaken.

I have no idea why Montgomery, Minter, and especially Ford never saw the field their freshman year. It does seem we don't fool with that anymore though. RBs, Ends, and LBs play as freshmen if they're good enough now, and I have a hard time believing any of those 3 weren't good enough.

And how many people leave college after 4 years and earn $350,000+? I hate to see them go but it is their best interest.

Montgomery wasnt ready. I specificallu remember him being interviewed before 2010 season, which he ended up losing due to injury.

Talked about how he thought it was going to be easy and just play rt away. Well he was redshirted and redshirts dont travel with the team. He never wanted that to happen again so he worked his butt off in the offseason.

Minter needed weight on him and you had guys like sheppard , riley and baker in front of him.

In fact minter is the only one us fans didnt have a serious discussion on him leaving early. No one saw this type of season, not even minter. He said he didnt know he was this good until after the tamu game. Thats when he realized he had what it takes and was having a special season.

This isnt a big deal, the ship isnt sinking, guys that stay til their sr year like williford, tahj, loston, and barrow are doing so because they havent played for 3 seasons yet.

Brooks didnt crack 2 deep until he was a sr.
