We were at about 40 att/g which is only 1 attempt a game off of the mark from last year and higher than some other years in the past 5 years. In yards/attempt we were 67th.

Well qb attempts count as well. So im saying we called more pass plays than we have since 08. I mean thats a no brainer. Just because it says Mett was 13-23 doesnt mean we called 23 pass plays. Especially when he was getting sacked 5-6 times.

just looking at listed stas on lsusports

2012 527 rush attempts to 356 pass attempts.

2011 591 rushh attempts to 279 pass attempts.

thats more than once a game

We give him credit for good plays, we blame him for bad ones. What would you like us to do. Turn a blind eye to the game and never criticise him. Where's the fun in that!

So youve never seen one poster say LSU wins in spite of miles. Or that Miles wouldnt have a job if it werent for chavis?

Les Miles, like all coaches has made mistakes, but IMO never let his kids down

Spiking the ball with 1 sec, faking fg's and lossing field position, not putting in the other QB when the whole nation was wondering why, not running Copelands fat arse until he pukes everyday for his penalties, and most recently, throwing the ball twice with 2 yards to go when you have a back averging 10 yards per carry and then saying you couldnt run the ball. Thats a let down if I ever seen one.Quite trying to make lite of his huge blunders just to bash some angry fan. They have the right to be angry. We lost to Clemson!!!!!!! Let the kids down I tell you, let all the kids down!

Im just saying any coach at LSU will be bashed for mistakes and praised for success! Miles has endured both!

We called more passing plays because the running game just plain wasn't working a lot of the time. And it wasn't working because it was inconsistent and downright ineffective against a lot of teams. Which is my point about the offense in general the last few years. We didn't crack 4 yards a carry in the last 5 games.

I just don't really see what it matters how often we pass. We're bad at passing and not consistently good at running either. If we were better at passing we'd probably be a lot better at running though, because we sure have the pieces to succeed.

So LSU is the only school to struggle at the qb position. And LSU only has done this under miles?

My point is Les isn the only one that has had qb problems.

Bama- broyle and jpw didnt get it doen. Mcelroy and Mccarron did.

UF- Leak and tebow, now they dont have good qb play

UT- Vince young and mccoy, now they dont have good qb play

LSU- Jmarc, Flynn, RP now they dont have good qb play

i can keep going with multiple programs and show how up and down the qb position has been every where across the country.

Whose fault is it that Mett didn't get any game experience during all the blowouts last year? We are talking about developing players.
The pumpers can't talk about that, so they spew, er... pump sunshine. But the fact remains, our QBs - Shep, JJ, JL, and now Mett, Rivers, et al, are not and were not given whatever coaching as appropriate to develop their talents. They did not come to LSU as blank slates.

But ok, for the sake of argument - McCarron has been developed at Alabama over his time as QB. Started off green as grass, and easy to rattle - but got what he needed to improve every season. And he has. That's the part that seems to be missing at LSU under Miles. Our QBs aren't lacking talent - they are lacking coaching and development.

Because that is what has brought up this whole qb deal. Constantly constantly bashed jordan because he was a running qb that couldnt throw.

constantly constantly praised mett as the savior because he was seen as a pure pocket passer.

It has every thing to do with it. Its what the fans wanted.

Saban, arkansas 2002

Bill belicheck, colts 2009

All coaches make blunders when us arm chair qbs could plainly see they made a huge mistake.

those arent the only blunders those two have made and wont be the last.

JLEE pickfest it scarred MILES, and has caused him to become an offensive recluse. He doesnt trust his QB.
Maybe he really doesn't know how to coach a QB to be a real QB or use the talent a given QB brings to the table to its best advantage. And that is the real problem - was when Mett was thrown to the wolves, was when JJ was played too much in 2010 and returned for the last 3 games in 2011, was for the 1/9 massacre, and has been for the bulk of 2012.

Yes, I agree that it is frustrating. One hates to put blame on incompetent or injured players, but, we can no longer hide the truth.

Our time will come. I predict that some "SabanLuck" that helped Little Nicky win will be headed our way soon.

can they answer a straight question about the offense? they always start spouting how many wins we've had. That's not the question.

You people act like those of use who like Miles and think he is a great coach love our offense and what nothing to change. Straw men must be fun to attack because that's all yall do.

No. But after 5 years of highly recruited offensive talent the offense is still under performing.

Curley and Mike Archer were shown the door.

New coach, better results.

Same coach, and the fans want him gone.

LSU- Jmarc, Flynn, RP now they dont have good qb play

When Jimbo's influence was gone, so was the adequate QB play.

Amongst a lot of my friends and acquaintances who are fans of SEC schools "Les Miles Clock Management" is an actual term with a meaning roughly equivalent to "Andy Reid Clock Management". Every coach makes mistakes, but in this area he makes more than most, or at least more than most coaches that people consider to be good coaches.

I wouldnt say this is true but ok.

Im sure i can go back to all of LSU loses under saban and find poor coaching decisions. In fact he made some very poor ones in the LSU loss last year and the tamu loss this year. After the bcs game, he had no business losing either. Just like uf in 03.

The fans, and most everyone else has figured out it isn't the QB's.
