I would think he would have pushed harder for cuts and less hard for tax increases than Obama has.
What exact form that would have taken though, who knows.

i would have been intrigued to see what cuts he would asked for, as the republicans in congress seem to lack ideas.

sure that would be a start. But that was 2011, not late 2012.
I would like to see spending cuts, but no one seems to really offer them. Only thing from the republicans is to slow the growth of spending, not actually cut it in any meaningful way.

Yes, exactly.
So now can you explain to me why so many people want to blame Obama?
It looks to me like when the Republicans have the Executive and have majorities in both houses, they blame the democrat minority for their failings, yet when there is a democrat in the WH, and the Democrats have one of the two houses, Republicans want to blame the President.
War in Iraq? Blame the Democratic minority that voted along with the majority party. No health care restructuring while Republicans control the executive and both houses for SIX YEARS? It's the Democrat minority's fault.
No budget bill? It's Obama's fault.
I mean really, wtf?

Is it way past time to ask the Oboe what the hell is his plan other than increasing the per centage of the populace on some form of govt assistance? They are and have been saying the economy will not revive until '14 at the earliest. Unemployment is not to reach the 5% levels til '20 according to them.

Because the President is also seen as the leader of his own party. If the President was truly out to cut spending, he would be bringing the hammer down on Reid to pass a budget but he hasn't. As a matter of fact, he never mentioned the fact that there hasn't been a budget passed since 2009. This, to me, screams of quiet complicity.

Meh. It's what both parties do. When the Dems are in power they say "we won, so suck it". When they are not in power they scream that the Constitution was written to give the minority party just as much say (if not more) than the majority party.
