They were crap

The problem with AU game wasn't playcalls, it was execution.

LSU shut it down offensively after the first two drives. One of which, if I remember correctly was a turnover in or near the end zone.

LSU had RZ malfunctions, but it's not like the staff said we want 2 1st downs inside the 25.
TD plays were called, just not executed to fruition.

yeah, it's always the execution.

It was an extremely vanilla offense after the first two drives, which were producing yardage. After the first two possessions, the next 7 gained a total of 70 yards with 5 punts and two fumbles. The two fumbles came on drives that netted zero yards.

Let's play along with your premise that this offensive sluggishness is just because players aren't producing. After 4-5 years, you wouldn't think it;s no longer just a player problem?

How many players has auburn had declare early for the draft? How many players do they expect to have drafted this year?

Where have ole miss recruiting classes been ranked in comparison to Lsu's? What about arkansas?

Ah yes, the old faithful execution argument. The same one that been made for the last 5 years. The only problem with that is in college the players are only allowed to play for 4 years, at most. So if the players are constantly changing, but the execution still stays the same, what does that tell you?

No matter what you say, he wont hear you, and he'll argue why it's not on miles. It's like talking to a brick wall

I see nothing wrong with this.
Surely you want all games to be blowouts, but it's good to be able to control the 4th when it doesn't happen.
Anyhow let the stats speak for themselves and all you have is Wizard dribble and conjecture.
When the execution is there LSU is top 10 in MoV.
Argue with that.

There are times you should try to put games away.

Auburn, Towson, ole miss, Arkansas, and Clemson all played their bowl games against us. Didn't you hear roger? These guys only show up for one game and that is against LSU.

Because I don't post frequently on the rant, that means I couldn't possibly know anything about football.

You do realize there is a world outside of these forums right?

My points are valid. Miles is a great coach with some flaws that if he changed would gain us an extra win or two.

And someone on the rant accusing someone else of only pretending to know football, now there's a joke

Yeah, and we are Ole Miss's Super Bowl.

There is an offensive problem whether pumpers own it or not.

I want Miles to succeed long term, so I hope he changes the offense. I suppose they don't.

Maybe it was evident the Mettsiah wasn't ready for prime time, and you speak of fumbles like they weren't execution problems.

In those 4-5 years, LSU fielded one of the most feared Os in FBS, beating opps by > 24pts avg.
Your point is shite.

Lol, how insane is that? They used that excuse for everyone of those games. I say this a lot on here, but we have the dumbest fans on the planet

I don't believe Les is playing a game of attrition. I don't think he is trying to play close games. What I do know based on data is his offenses have sucked the last few years. The stats prove that all day long. His defenses have been good and have covered his offensive deficiencies. If you want to argue that LSU has had good offenses recently then let's have that debate.

Playing close and winning in the 4th against Towson, La Tech, Troy, Washington, ASU, N. Car and Clemson; firstly doesnt always work, and secondly, makes you look weak. Which results in you playing in the Chick Bowl when you have 10 wins

Few media people watch those games, they just check the score and go WTF?

Fumbles weren't the only issue. Repeated punts against that crappy defense were too.

It was an extremely conservative game plan after the first two drives when LSU was moving the ball effectively. There was no need to change it.

Execution problems after 5 years point to more than a player issue.

20 of the top 25 BCS teams in the December 2nd poll had 10 wins. The 10 wins are not what they used to be.

Not many coaches will agree with jeapordizing a W with a 1st yr QB late in a game. The normal MO is to run clock, even NFL.
Still, your argument has no factual basis seeing as 50% of his teams have been top 10 in MoV.

LSU started packing it in on the third drive.

Yep, no problem on offense here. All is well.

Goes to show that there are a small amount of people who will defend the man so much, they fail to see what's best for the program. There is an offensive issue, and it isn't going away.

Because the talent level of the 2 teams is so close?

Well to be fair auburn does have talent and actually as out recruited us the last 2 cycles including grabbing 2 from la that had scholarship offers from LSU.

Poor coaching and the players quitting on their coach is why their record was poor.
