Just finished the season finale after watching all six seasons over the course 3 weeks. The finale made me feel depressed. So they were all dead to begin with from the crash?

the guy and girl who were "dead" from the spider bite...as the girl got buried, she opened her eyes. Why didn't we find out what happened to her after that? She was just buried alive? Why weren't they in the church at the end? Why wasn't Michael in the church?

Why was Jack the only one that fell in the cane field after the crash?

How did Jacob's "mother" get on the island?

Who built the statue?

That's why you've been so quiet lately.

LOST is the best show ever made. Don't you agree? The music, the cast, the writing, the scenery just makes it wonderful. Do a rewatch sometime and you will be amazed at the connections you missed the first time. I've seen it all the way through at least 4 times and I still see things I missed.

No, they were not dead the whole time. Over the cousrse of the show first you saw flashbacks, then
flashforwards and then sideways (this was just a place for them to be while they were all waiting for each other to meet up in the church because they all "passed" at different times. The ending is quite beautiful and appropriate.

There are no answers.

And FWIW...I felt like I really liked this show for about a week after completing it in marathon style.

Then I woke up just like Jack at the end....got some water, and realized it was a clusterfrick plane wreck of a show that had no direction.

Did you watch the "extra" footage that showed Ben and Hurley after Hurley took over Jacob's role on the island? There is also a surprise guest that is very cool.

They did not all die in the crash. ABC added that crap in the credits without the producers knowing of it.

The spider paralyzed them but they suffocated before it wore off.

They weren't in the church at the end because the fans hated them.

Michael's became one of the whisperers on the island for eternity.

An Egyptian civilization built the statue.

Your welcome.

What did Jack's tattoo represent?

I liked it but it also depressed me. But I get depressed any time I think about death/afterlife stuff. I was hoping for a happy ending where they all get off the island and it explodes as they are flying off into the sunset.

I liked the story line about them but I can't remember if they ever explained what they meant.

He stands among us but is not one of us.

I'm rewatching the series and that was just on a few weeks ago.

HOW IS THIS SO HARD TO GRASP? Christian outright said that everything that happened really happened and over the years they all eventually died (Ben and Hurley) probably several years later.

They then went to a middle ground between life and eternal bliss and waited for each other and slowly recollected their memories. Once this was complete they climbed on the boat and sailed of to the Grey Havens.

Eta: Michael wasn't really connected with the others since he kindof sold them out. He was a whisper on the island for many years until his penance was paid and he could leave this world for the next.

Notice that Ben didn't go in the church despite being in the sideways world. He was hated by the group the entire time. He had a relationship with Alex and Rousseau and would eventually sail off with Alex and Rousseau.

Nikki and Paolo were assumed dead and buried alive before the venom wore off. They had no real relationship with the people of the island. Also they were never good people. Even Ben it can be presumed righted his ship with Hurley as the big kahuna.

The tattoo episode is highly regarded as one of the worst and most pointless episodes that was made.

Pure filler and absolutely no story progression.

No, they didn't die in the crash. This conversation should explain it:

quote:

Jack: Are you...are you real?
Christian:[Laughs] I sure hope so. I'm real, you're real, everything that happened to you is real. The people in that church, they're real.
Jack: And everyone else, they're all dead too?
Christian: Everyone dies, Jack. Some before you, some long after you.
Jack: Are they all here now?
Christian: Well, there is no NOW here.
Jack: Where are we, dad?
Christian: This is the place that you all made together so that you could find one another. The most important part of your life was the time that you spent with these people. That's why all of you are here. Nobody does it alone, Jack. You needed all of them and they needed you.

quote:

the guy and girl who were "dead" from the spider bite...as the girl got buried, she opened her eyes. Why didn't we find out what happened to her after that? She was just buried alive? Why weren't they in the church at the end? Why wasn't Michael in the church?

Who cares? They suck as characters, and weren't friends with the survivors. And Michael just wasn't ready to move on, like Ben.
