Surely you only refer to epigenetics and homosexuality. Epigenetics itself is pretty well-established

Of course, if it were genetic it could also be a recessive gene, and recessive genes can't be bred out. Could also come from a combination of genes that are advantageous by themselves but disadvantageous in combination with each other.

That explains my younger brother's infatuation with his hair, appearance and fashion! Can someone link this study!!! I"M TELLING DAD!!!!

Oh, come on now. Some of it must be learned behavior. How else do you explain ancient Greece and the modern day middle east? Are/were they so genetically different that they had/have much higher rates of homosexual activity or was/is it just expected of them in their culture?

This question implies there is an evolutionary disadvantage to homosexuality.

You can look at it from the other direction.

How you know that they don't have the similar rates of the gay, but culture represses it exhibition here.

here we go. btw there was a giant thread about this a few weeks ago, with recent studies cited, etc.

To the individual males, your rates of disease (like Hep) are way higher.

Evolution doesn't care if your liver is at its best.

Evolution doesn't care about anything because it's just survival and gene transfer.

Right.

Homosexuality doesn't inherently impede either of those.

Well....there is....to evolve you have to reproduce...so if you're attracted to people you can't reproduce with how is it not an evolutionary disadvantage?

It's not a disadvantage to the species as a whole. Some reproduce as well.

I'm probably on your side of the debate here. Playing devil's advocate.

And youre right. Many of them reproduce

It's a recurring theme among many social animals.

There are even equations that quantify its evolutionary adventagous nature, centered on the degree of relation to other members.

Basically, non-breeding males allow for a greater number of related offspring to reach maturity than if all males attempted to go on their own and breed.

In a more primitive time, you essentially have another provider with less concern of being burdened to care for his own young.

I know to guys that are a couple now and each have children from prior relationships they had before coming out.

There is nothing beind wrong with being gay. Hating them is the same as hating black people. In fact I am so tolerant that if all black people became gay I wouldn't be upset in the least. Not one bit!

Only thing about this that I know fr sure,my Couisn's son was born gay. When he was 4-5 we all said that if he turned out gay we all knew he was born that way.His dad is one of the biggest hunter/fisherman you'd find. He tried since his boys birth to get him I to those things. But his boy ratherd dolls and dresses. He is 24 yrs old now and when he dresses in drag, most of you on here would die to go out with him. That little son of a gun is one fine transsexual!
