re: Will homosexuality be bred out eventually?

You ever heard of NAMBLA or your public school systems across America teaching on sexual behaviors for the last few years on homosexuality/lesbianism?

Let's say it is genetic. It could be a mutation that's survive because it acts to curb the population to a degree.

If it's not, I still think it will continue, because humans are curious, and it'll just stick with some.

Most scientist think it's a combination of both.

Might be something to that. A few years ago they had a study that showed that the more sons a woman has, the more likely the next one is to be gay.

Of course, if it were genetic it could also be a recessive gene, and recessive genes can't be bred out. Could also come from a combination of genes that are advantageous by themselves but disadvantageous in combination with each other.

I can't take this seriously

I saw a study a few years back that indicated that the adopted children of homosexuals identified as homosexual at a greater rate than those adopted by heterosexuals. I'm sure more research has been done since then.

Thanks to those of you who had serious answers to what was a serious question of mine.

It's multifactorial. There is no doubt in my mind there is a genetic component. There is no doubt in my mind there is an environmental component.

That being said, even if it was 100% genetic, gays still get married and have sex with women and reproduce to try to conform to society. Those genes are passed on.

So to answer your question: no

You better hope it isn't bred out because if it is then that's the end of the Florida Gaytards.

Is being gay genetic?

That's one theory, another recent one say its has to do with environmental triggers.

The why doesn't matter. For whatever reason, it's an anomaly that been occurring for centuries, so it seems that it's here to stay.

Are your referring to the recent study regarding epigenetic factors? If so you should clarify that the unknown "environmental" triggers occur prior to birth....it's heritable and is delivered by one of the other parents but there may be something that occurs during development that mutates the gene's expression which results in teh gay.

Yeah that sounds right, couldn't recall the details but that's the one. That theory has some sort of combination of genetics + enviro triggers but my point is that the why and how does not matter. It's not going away.

Absolutely not. There has been some recent scientific news on this and while I am no scientist, the report was that homosexuality is "epi-genetic," which means that it is passed down but depends on factors outside the genome itself to manifest itself. This explains how identical twins can have one straight and one gay. I will give you the only example I can think of:

With bees, it is well known that the queen is not born differently, but she is fed "royal jelly" instead of pollen, which causes her to develop into a queen.

epi-genetics is far from established theory.

Right.

Those concerned with somehow deleting homosexuality are wasting our time. Same as the ones who advocate the wars on poverty, drugs, guns, etc.

re: Will homosexuality be bred out eventually?

Considering the variety of upbringings of homosexual individuals, men staying closeted, and a tendency to run in families, I think it is stupid to say that homosexuality is a learned behavior.

Assuming it is genetic, it won't be bred out. People don't understand how genetics works. Recessive carriers still have kids.
