Exactly. Its completely silly to think these high schoolers are considered starters on our D if everyone is healthy, even if players leave.
yes, if multiple corners or safeties go down, I could see someone like White or Cutrer getting some quality snaps...but theres still players like THomas Raymond Holmes Thompson Saldolph Eugene, etc in the program
Same with DL, if a few guys get hurt, Gilmore and company could push QThomas and MJohnson for PT.
Not knocking the incoming class at all, I have high hope for them and think some will contribute now, but dubbing some as starters now it wrong. As of now, Herron is not better than Rasco/Hunter, Gilmore isnt better than Freak/Ego, etc
This post makes the most sense out of any post in this thread.
The post in quotations seems like a rational post towards the production of the 2013 class.
if there are no injuries

If I had to venture a guess for game 1, none. By the end of the year I could see a couple.
Herron-not likely early but I could see it later if Hunter or Rasco get hurt or are just ineffective. His size, strength and athletic ability are college ready. Will play a lot most likely. I have no faith in Allen and Maclin to be good depth
Patterson-not ready for playing time unless he really hits the weightroom
Neal-I don't see him as a starter ever but I think he plays a lot his freshman year. He's as ready physically as he's gonna get.
Lacouture-could be ready to contribute next year either outside or inside depending on how the depth shakes out and how he hits the weights between now and then. I see a redshirt but could be convinced either way.
Gilmore-physically about ready but is raw. Not gonna start regardless and if he does, we're in big trouble. I see him playing.
Bain-redshirt. Too raw.
Lawson-same as above
Beckwith-could see him playing quite a bit but I think he should seriously consider playing DE. He could play a lot there next year. At OLB he'll get lost in the shuffle next year. Too many guys to battle. He could win out of course but I think Tahj Jones starts at one OLB spot and Alexander the other. If he can play the middle then maybe.
Jones-I could see him starting by mid to late year. I think he's the top option at MLB.
White-the best chance to start. He's ready in every way. Depends on Collins, Mills and how Thomas and Raymond have developed.
Robinson-needs to redshirt but depending on the guys above may not be afforded the luxury.
Jefferson-physically I think he could play next year if the depth works out. I'd play him before Robinson.
Brazil-offense imo
Cutrer-too small t play next year. I think Dwayne Thomas gets moved over before he plays. Loston, Eugene, Thompson, Martin and Sandolph should be able to hold S down for a year until Cutrer is ready. Once Cutrer gets there physically they better all be on notice.
