au contraire, mon frere.

The bet includes any and all eventualities. I am willing to take any twist of fate as should my betting opponent.

no one would take that bet that is retarded and greatly skewed in your favor. you are not betting on the hornets on court production you are basically betting on blind luck with the lottery balls and infinite trade possibilities.

As I said, if I'm willing to deal with the vagaries of fate, so should someone who chooses to bet me.

No one's twisting your arm.

i'm not taking it but i think if you gonna propose a bet you have to do something less one sided. you're banking on the hornets having a 16 game winning streak and strong 2nd half but you aren't willing to make a bet dealing with their production. you don't have the confidence to use the 6th worst record as your bet which is what it should be based on

actually a tank job still guarantees you an early pick and is kind of an insurance policy against the lottery.

eta: just so you know i do not support tanking this season

What does that have to do with Shabazz? Hell, he COULD make his bet that he can fill up a 12 ounce beer bottle with urine, but that is not what he's talking about.

Whuh? Part of my position assumes they are going to be better in the second half of the season and that they won't have the sixth worse record. Let me state it more plainly . . . I am betting any combination of factors will preclude a top six spot for the Hornets (improved play, badly bouncing ping pong balls, whatever).

he made 2 separate betting proposals in the op. the 2nd one had to do with draft pick not shabazz

to get someone to take it you would have to offer better than 1 to 1 odds. the results are weighted more in your favor to not make it an even bet

Really . . . this.

BTW, between the hours of 1am and 6am I probably do produce enough urine to fill 12 oz.

Okay, so you are fully aware that his bet was about the 6th pick, which would include any effect of wins and losses.

yes i am and i am simply stating that is not an even bet. to make that fair it couldn't be straight up odds.

Hahaha, this shite isn't roulette or poker. There isn't a clear set of "odds." It's like betting on football. You don't have 1 to 1 odds of winning. Sure, you are either going to win or lose, but that doesn't imply equity in the odds.

You can't even get even odds in a parlor game.

Seriously, why would HE try to make a bet easier for YOU to win? It's his proposed bet, of course the "odds" are going to be in his favor.

when betting in football if two teams are greatly mismatched you can't just bet that one team will win straight up and you double your money, that is why there is a spread. if you bet a straight up win the odds are not even and you do not double your money with a win. same thing applies here the mismatch is in his favor when you factor in trade possibilities and lottery outcomes. it is not a fair straight up bet

Because, as I can only assume was the point of this thread, he is more than likely correct. Thus, the Shabazz threads are stupid, cluttering, and annoying. I really doubt VOR is using this thread to become a bookie.
