It would be nice of we had more footage of Rettig.

But, Jennings HS footage looks promising. Just hope our HC gets a reality check before it's time for either one to play.

Better question, why would you even come here if you were either of these guys?

Wow! Another shocking response!

I just hope it won't be another Jefferson/Lee fiasco with these two guys.

Jennings. Passer first, but can run. Rettig = Mettenberger.

They are both going to redshirt next year. No way either of them see the field behind Mett, Rivers, and Randall.

Sets us up for 2014 as:

Rettig-RS Freshman
Jennings- RS Freshman
Randall- RS Junior
Rivers- RS Junior

Spacing sets up nicely.

I hope the coaches give both serious looks about starting next year if they are worthy. My gut feeling is Jennings will have the edge early, but Rettig has the greater upside.

I'm guessing they will stagger them by redshirting one QB and letting the other play...

Just by watching videos and reading a bit, I think Rettig will fit better in our system. He is a pro-style guy but he's got enough mobility to move around the pocket or escape if he has to.. unlike Mett.

Only time will tell though.

Neither will see the field as a qb at LSU. Why Miles wastes scholarships on dual threat qb's amazes me.

At what point during Les' LSU coaching career has that been a concern? I think everybody can see now why Mett wasn't in front of JL/JJ, so what year are you referring to?

Seriously, with our lack of pass protection, we need a mobile QB. If we improve our oline, then maybe we can utilize a pocket passer. Otherwise it is a waste of time...

Mett is way too slow and immobile with our oline...

Hopefully, that situation will change if some needed coaching changes on the offensive side take place.

Both are rated prettty high, so it seems like one of them would step up in a few years and really be an effective QB--my hope is that they can get some solid coaching.

Both(IMO) are dual threats. Rettig looks about as fast as Jennings but public access tape on him is scarce and from what I've seen his arm is pretty meh. Thing is with them being similar that if one starts and plays good, then the other never sees the field. I think Miles might burn a redshirt just to get separation because he's never going to use Bolden or Randall.

in 2013 LSU will have 6 QBs on roster and I believe one or two will see the wrting on the wall and leave.

You're watching the wrong players film then.
