I've never seen ANY of the LOTR movies. should I watch those first?

still waiting patiently on Argo, Zero Dark Thirty, and Django

i think watching them will make the hobbit series better

the character introductions are better in FOTR. seeing them referenced in the beginning of the Hobbit is a nice payoff. (in particular Frodo but also the elves)

The screener is good, especially for how recently the hobbit came out. I downloaded it too

But, the uploaded blurred out the water marks, leaving these blurry square places. Again, it's a good copy, but gives you a reason to wait and watch LOTR first

You could actually support the movies you want to see.

3D IMAX? Me too.

If I were to see it again it would be at the matinee.

This.

It's nice to see how everything transpired. Why bilbo didn't kill gollum and where gandalf went during periods in the hobbit. He knew there was a larger force to be stopped then Smaug.

Because I think that is overpriced and I can obtain the medium in different ways

Why you ask

Watching the Hobbit first could be a cool experience, but you'd have to see the next two movies first, in order to get the whole story. So, that's another two years.

Plus, The Hobbit makes a lot of references to it, so you might as well see LOTR first.

Maybe read the Hobbit first?

Always watch in production order, same as Star Wars. You miss too much you're supposed to know watching the prequel.

It means someone who got a dvd screener for award season uploaded it online so people can download it.

we are talking 3D IMAX, right? what would you expect it to be priced?

of course you can. it was your no fricking way that seemed a little over the top, like they splayed a few square inches of skin off your arm at the box office. it's 15-20 bucks for a premium audio/video experience...seems fair to me

I can't imagine watching a screener of the hobbit. That's about like getting an HDTV and playing standard definition channels like my grandparents do.
